She’s staring at him
a defiance in her
passionate gaze
and he’s smiling
with a controlled frenzy
the electrified line
between romance and
evil
she wants to tell him off
she wants to be heard
but she fears if she opens
her mouth
he’ll kiss her
and she’ll taste him
and she’ll just be his again
so she keeps the rebellion
in the eyes
open, wide, proud
they watch him move his
body up like some sort
of tame spider
circling her within his
long and slender limbs
with a silent grace
now he’s staring her
in the face
and his eyes are a softness
and it’s too late
she’s back in love with him
the next moment’s kiss
the only apology he’ll ever
give.
